Laminate Flooring & Skirting

After almost 2 decades of use this couple’s laminate flooring had certainly seen better days. Wait till you see the finished article!

Apparently the final straw for this couple’s flooring was after a lit sparkler burnt a hole in the middle of the living room laminate. So after a visit to Howdens in Bathgate to view their range of flooring and inspect the quality. This couple chose the Howden’s Professional range of laminate flooring in a chesnut colour.

After lifting the old floor and removing the old skirtings in the hall, living room and dining room. We filled in all the holes in the wall left by the badly fitted skirting with quality plaster. This was then left for a day to set before we could lay the new floor and facings.

The aim was to replace the mistmatch of the ageing laminate floorings with one single colour, across the whole bottom level. The living room was finished off with 95mm high skirting to match the doors, with 140mm high skirting in the dining room to make the room feel taller.

As you can see from the pictures below, the Bronx furniture range from Next, really matches well with the flooring in the dining room. The living room looking a lot wider and deeper with the long deep wood floors and white walls. A perfect canvas for this young family to work with and create their own dream home.
